Transmedia

Transmedia is a sort of broken narrative that the audience gets to find the pieces for and put together. Each medium used to tell the story should do something different as well as do what it does best. Meanwhile, each piece of the story should mean something on its own and be satisfying in its own way while also providing a deeper meaning and context when put together with the other pieces of the story.

I created this specific transmedia experience for my television pilot Grey Space. Grey Space is about a girl named Greysen who, after starting classes at a new boarding school the same day beloved popular girl, Amani Tailor, is murdered, struggles to prove her innocence and still keep her past, past and secrets, secrets. Meanwhile, Christine Campbell struggles to cope with the loss of her best friend while also investigating the new girl as a possible suspect.

This transmedia experience includes an in-story website that allows you to get to know the characters a little better, the anonymous Twitter account that taunts Greysen, and a Chat Fiction with messages between Amani and her secret lover.
